I used to follow a lot of fashion bloggers on Instagram, but I just grew increasingly more frustrated. They were constantly sharing new clothing items. Putting aside the fact that it’s wasteful to cycle through clothes that fast, I’m much more interested in what pieces you have worn to death this season. I’m not interested in a cheap sweater you think is cute because a company sent it to you for free.
I want to break that mold.
HERE FOR YOU
The ultimate goal of this blog is to help others create a beautiful life, economically. Instead of linking new items in each post, I will focus on wardrobe formulas. The exact sweater I’m wearing won’t be in every reader’s closet, but every reader will probably have a solid colored sweater, jeans, and statement shoes. Stick with me, and I promise to arm you with practical tips that you can use right now. This girl is not your average fashion blogger!
The outfit for today’s post is a great option for winter, and it can be modified to a lightweight sweater or t-shirt as the weather gets warmer. Layering solid color basic pieces sets the perfect background for bold accessories like a scarf and shoes. I’ve also been obsessing over hair scarves lately. I grabbed a couple of fabric scraps from my stash and cut smaller strips to tie around an elastic. They’re perfect for mornings where I want to throw my hair back in a ponytail and go. What was basic and functional on its own becomes a sophisticated statement with a scarf tied around it!
- Solid color sweater
- Statement shoes (think bright patterns or lots of sparkle)
- Bold scarf
- Hair ribbon
All of the clothing showcased on my blog is part of my capsule wardrobe. Want to know what a capsule wardrobe is? Want to learn how to create one for yourself? Grab a cup of coffee, and read this!
